Familie von Stetten aus Künzelsau

Episode for a documentary series ´45/´30, SWR, Adel im Südwesten- Die nächste Generation, 2019

About the Film

The film is about Franziska Freiherrin von Stetten, the youngest offspring of the Freiherren von Stetten from Künzelsau, actually always wanted to go out into the world. And she did for a long time. She made a career with a large international food company and jetted around the world. But then her father fell ill and she had to make a decision: Take over the business at Schloss Stetten or pursue an international career. She opted for the family and has now been the manager of the Schloss Stetten retirement homes in Künzelsau and Bad Mergentheim for over 10 years. Her father, Wolfgang von Stetten, a former CDU member of the Bundestag among other things, founded assisted living for senior citizens at Schloss Stetten 35 years ago. At the time, he was a pioneer and there were many official and social obstacles to overcome. Today, retirement homes are a lucrative business and serve as a role model. His son, CDU member of parliament Christian von Stetten, is continuing to build apartments around the castle. The family can hardly keep up with inquiries – the waiting list is long. And this is not only due to the location of the castle in the beautiful Hohenlohe region, but also to the warm-heartedness and commitment of the whole family.
