About the Film
The new German film still stands for powerful experimentation. That has also made him internationally successful. Hardly anyone knows that many of these successful films have been filmed by women. Female Directors of Photography have helped shape the new German Film – although there are still very few of them. It seems to be still one of the few male domains in the feature film. Even the Academy Awards have so far ignored the female Directors of Photography: In the 82-year history of the Oscars, no woman has ever been nominated for her camerawork. Why is that?
